Fry Club Colts U13 (3) v Warmley Rangers U13 (1)

January 8th, 2006

It was a very cold damp Sunday morning for the first game of 2006.

3 minutes in and Dan Buley had a good effort go just wide. Harry Pople was denied just after by some excellent defending by Warmley. Fry’s are playing some nice attractive football with some flowing passing moves.

In the 10th minute Fry’s come close again to opening the scoring when Dan Buley chipped the keeper only to see his effort hit the post. The game is turning into a well balance battle with end to end play. In the 20th minute a corner is laid back out to Harry but his shot is just wide again.

26 mins and a throw in from left is laid back to just outside the box and Justin Skinner drills it into the bottom left corner. Fry’s celebrations were short lived when they realised the linesman was already flagging for an earlier infringement and the goal was disallowed.

Fry’s finally make the breakthrough after 33 minutes when Harry crossed in a excellent ball which finds the head of Dan Buley who makes it 1 – 0.

Second half sees two changes for Fry’s at the kick off. Ryan Davis comes on for Jack Baber and Danny Curtis for Myles Jefferies.

3 min in, a great ball is played in from Danny Curtis, the goalie fumbles and Harry nicks the ball, takes it around the keeper and buries it in the back of the net from a narrow angle 2 -0.

Warmley come close from a corner in the 47th minute and see the ball go just over the bar. 2 minutes later sees them come close again but are denied by the diving Tom Rose who pushes the ball out wide.

A flowing move in the 60th min sees again some great passing by Fry’s and Ryan Ellett finishes the move off by chipping the keeper to make it 3 – 0.

More changes for Fry’s sees John Cotgreave on for Ryan Ellett and Lewis Marcham for Danny Buley  A few minutes to go and Warmly play an exquisite through ball and their striker calmly fires a goal in over Tom Rose in the Fry’s net 3-1. Warmley come close to scoring their second when a cross goal shot rebounds off the far post.

Final whistle blows and Fry’s come off well deserved victors. They played some excellent football and gave 110%
